What defines the power of voice? What does it mean to you and are you mindful of using it? Do you utilize it to take risks, to support your confidence? Do you stand tall and express yourself through the use of it?

Yantara Jiro, a spiritual healer shares, “Each person’s voice is unique and one of a kind. No sound in the world is ever the same. Our voice has power, and when utilized and trained consciously it can open doors to infinite possibilities.”

In our world today, there is much visual and verbal noise thus it is important that we show up authentically and send out good noise. To do so, we must support our voice, nourish and craft positions we take as we use it. When doing so we land in strong spaces but also create good energy for the spaces we want to be and draw in the right people to create a strong community that we long to live in.

Harness What is Ours

As we consider our voice it seems like a simple component of our life yet it can be challenging to drive, to depend on consistently. In the moments we need it, rely on it to represent us it can falter and crack. For this reason, we must respect it, invest in it, refresh and tend to it. We must know it well, get extremely clear in our language. Release elements of our voice that we have soaked up, that we mimic from others. Ultimately, shed layers that don’t belong to us.

Roy Hart, international master and pioneer in the exploration of the voice says, “Voice is the muscle of the soul.”

When we harness what is ours, our voice becomes easier to express, is stronger, more confident and received in more authentic ways. We differentiate ourselves from others, are seen and heard more easily, remembered for the good sounds we offer up.

“There are many aspects of our voice that say much more than the content of our spoken words, making the people who listen to us feel, interpret or trust more, or less, in what we say.” This from, Kate Stewart a Reiki and Sound Practitioner in London.

“Using our voice, from our true selves, helps to make us better at communicating, and be happier, more alive and be more present in our lives.”

Voice Opens Us Up

The more we get comfortable with our voice the more open we are to pull from the center of our being, thereafter we are able launch it in effortless ways. The lump in our throat dissipates. The dark energy that previously passed throughout our body begins to calm and transforms into wisdom. In a safe space we create good, exciting energy that others experience and draw in. Suddenly people want to jump on your train, take part in your passions, movements that you are working to create.

Jenni Prisk, Founder of Voices of Women, shared in Forbes, “there are roughly 6,500 languages spoken globally. When a woman speaks quickly without pausing, the message can become confusing. Your audiences are 10-15 words behind you as they assimilate your message; therefore, pauses helps you to be more convincing and powerful, and boosts comprehension.”

Voice Provides Experience for Others

We must embrace that utilizing several nuances of our voice is important. As we find extreme comfort in our original voice we can weave this into our content and messaging. Create multi-dimensional experiences that we take pride in yet also provide interesting experiences for others. Once we open ourselves to share multiple aspects of voice our people see us in a brighter light, place us in a trustworthy category. They spread the word on what we are sharing then come back for more. Creators of good vibrations through the uniqueness of our voice, we stand up and stand out!

The Bright Side website researched elements of voice, its social ability, an indication of personality, if you are an extrovert or introvert. On the trustworthiness of voice, 64 versions of the word were heard by volunteers. Almost all participants chose men who made their pitch higher at the end of the word as being more trustworthy. For women, the ones with the lower pitch at the end of the word were considered more trustworthy.

All said, beyond the realm of words, voice is powerful.
• Serves as a mode for many emotions.
• Draws us into story, creates joy, laughter, songs, color.
• Is experiential.
• Causes us to gather, to support one another.
• Is a heartfelt way for us to connect.

We need to support voice for growth plus momentum. It is what people cling to when they decide to dedicate their time in life to us and choose to invest in us.
